Scarring after shingles

Hullo!

Does anyone have tips for mending skin after shingles?

I’ll be using 24hour rescue when it’s calmed a bit more and AM supplement.

Are there any foods I can gobble down which might specifically help, I can take limited high salicylates and amines, so there is some flexibility. Has anyone else had this experience?

Any help really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Rowenna😊

Einkorn

Does anyone have any information on einkorn as a "histamine liberator" or not? Apparently wheat is in this category but spelt is on the ok list. I'm wondering what opinions on einkorn wheat are in relation to histamines and the skin. Thanks so much!

Body wash recommendation?

Hi there,

Does anyone have a recommendation for a body wash/cleanser? I have been using la Roche Posay AP t body wash but have extremely itchy inflamed and irritated skin where I use it so thinking it may not agree with me! I also noticed it contains SLS.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an alternative?

Thanks

Hi Courtney,

Have you seen - ss of August 2026 Karen has brought out a natural gentle cleanser. I am awaiting on the product to arrive for me to try it.

I see that you posted a yr ago, I do hope that you were able to find a cleanser until now re Karen's new product.

I have only recently discovered about Karen & her products.

Butter replacement

Has anyone got a decent butter replacement?

This would be for a butter replacement that goes well on scones or tea loaf, ie that can carry something sweet.

Which might be the best eczema detox oils to blend to make something?

At this moment I’m just using the Sunflower oil, or rice bran oil, as hemp and olive oils are too acidic and savoury to carry something sweet on top. But as well, this is too thin and doesn’t have as much solidity or weight as dairy butter.

Any other options? What do you use?

Any advice or ideas appreciated.

Hi Rowenna,

I've seen unrefined red palm oil on some low histamine lists, but I don't know if it's been tested for amines or salicylates - if ok, it could possibly be mixed with the sunflower oil and a pinch of salt to make a more butter-like spread? There are organic, eco- and orangutan-friendly brands available 🙂.
