Karen also wrote The Eczema Detox, she owns a skincare company, Skin Friend, and in her 20s she was a TV presenter with the Nine Network, hosting What's Up Doc? Karen also ran the Eczema Life Clinic in Sydney before moving to the Gold Coast.

Karen Fischer is a registered nutritionist with a Bachelor of Health Science Degree and a Diploma of Nutrition. She has studied Cosmetic Chemistry (she formulated the eczema cream, Eczema Friend) and she is currently completing a PhD involving eczema research (Randomised Controlled Trial and Systematic Review) at Bond University.
