Testing Progress
am making some progress with testing for the first time but would like to compare notes. I have tested mango, sweet potato and carrot in the past 10 days. I seem not to have had much reaction to sweet potato. As regards mango, I had a small cupful and had a mild reaction - it was quite hard to tell but on balance I think it was a reaction as there was a slight worsening of the little eczema that I presently have. As regards carrots again, there only appears to have been a slight worsening. Any idea what this means, could I continue to eat carrot and mango in small quantities? When I previously tested oats, potatoes and legumes, there was a clear and obvious worsening as I had proper eczema outbreaks on my hands
Appreciate any advice! Thanks!

Yay for sweet potatoes!! 😋😋😋 I can’t eat mango or carrot yet.., my tests were a hard fail! I have found that I’m able to eat more diverse proteins… different seafoods and other proteins. So that was super helpful! Sushi grade seafood and white rice are where I started…. Plus it meant I could go out and eat! Then, I tried cooked seafood (mmmm prawns and salmon). It also allowed me to start making different power bowls which was fantastic. Then, I tried ground meat which gives me a few sneezes (histamine) but no skin reaction. I’ll take it!! 😂
After that, I tried fruits and veggies. Some I can have in limited quantities... but I'll take it!
These are my notes! I’ve gone from 2 foods to around 20-30? I’ve had to do it slowly and I try to keep meals diverse and grounded in what I can eat. whenever I have any reaction, I always go back to FID basics for a week to recover. I also cross reference every food trial with some other lists bc my immune system is just extra right now. I stick with low histamine foods bc histamine and I just don't agree right now.
Hope my notes help?! Stay positive. Go slow. Celebrate your wins. Enjoy food moderation, binge Netflix ;)
Oh! And retest foods you tried during your flare. If I'm flaring, I react to nearly everything - it's like my system is on defense. I couldn't eat GF oats during my flare, but I can eat them now. (I had to deal with flaring eczema plus skin infections for a while there. Glad that's over.)
