Healing Crisis or Just A Crisis?
I am at such a loss. I started the Eczema Detox Diet (book) Dec. 31, 2022 and did that for about 6 weeks before realizing I really needed to do the FID program. I took 1 month off in between programs and I am currently ending week 3 on FID. Within about 3-4 days of starting the FID program my skin has gotten progressively worse and worse. It's to the point where I am afraid my staph has come back and I am going to be hospitalized because it is all over my body- my groin, arms, back, behind the neck, neck and breasts, torso, and armpits. Oh- I forgot to mention in and out of my ears and creeping up my face. I guess I need to know if this is "normal" and truly can be a healing crisis before it gets better. I feel like I am out of options (although jumping off a bridge sounds good right about now. Kidding. Kind of. ) I'm afraid to go back on antibiotics since I know that's part of the problem. Any advice is appreciated and welcomed. Desperate for relief. Single foster mom who can't be the best mom I'm capable of because this is so debilitating.

I agree with Bonnie and Aimee... definitely go see you doctor to check for staph infection as the earlier you treat it the better. If it's infected and you don't want to go back on antibiotics, ask your doctor about a topical antibiotic cream. I found it helpful when I had infected eczema. As mentioned, I will also send you our new zinc cream which helps to keep infections away but in the meantime try a topical antibiotic as it will be stronger then you can switch to the zinc cream once the antibiotic kicks in (it could help you get off the antibiotics sooner once the infection has been treated by your doctor).
You'll get there! When I initially had eczema, I had SO many skin infections before I knew how to keep them away. Then I never got them again.
