Moxibustion with Mugwort cigarettes
Hi, I have been on FID for just over 1 month (since Dec. 20, 2024) and the itchiness from my eczema is subsiding considerably (current level of itchiness is 2 on a scale of 10, 10 being intense itchiness). I also have 2 small areas of psoriasis on my legs, (diagnosed by the dermatologist), slower to heal but it seems they are getting better also. I take AM and PM supplements, use 24 hours Skin rescue, and get Light therapy 2x/week. I refused topical steroid!. . . A friend of mine in Viet Nam had serious eczema many years ago. She treated it with mugwort cigarettes (moxibustion) daily for 1 month. After that, her eczema never returned. The only change in her diet is that she avoids seafood. Now, she sends me these mugwort cigarettes and encourages me to use them. Googling the use of mugwort cigarettes for eczema, I found Yinovacenter.com using mugwort cigarette for eczema. What is your experience with this type of treatment? Because I have good result with FID, I'll stick with it. But, I want to know if there is contraindication for using mugwort cigarettes for my psoriasis along with FID?

The eczema is 80% or 85% clear, but 2 stubborn spots of psoriasis go up and down in the healing process. 5 days ago, I ate a little boiled taro and nothing happened. The next day (4 days ago), I ate a little more, again, everything seems to be fine. The next day (3 days ago), I ate 1 cup of brown rice made into fried rice (fried with a little high oleic Sunflower oil and green onion). Still no bad sign. The next day (2 days ago), I made white potato hash brown (steamed potato, then browned it in the oil mentioned above so that a slight crust is formed.) On a regular basis, I have eaten white Russett potato in the lentil soup and have not had bad reactions. Then, yesterday, the psoriasis started to weep. I am now back to being straight and narrow. For vegetables, I rotate among Brussel sprouts, green and red cabbage, celery, leeks, Romain lettuce, I also eat mung bean sprouts (Thank God, there are so easy to make!). I am wondering if my usage of the oil is a no-no for now? It seems that I should wait until EVERYTHING has cleared up before re-introducing foods. Please comment about my adventuring out beyond the lentil soup and oat meal combo (for protein). Thanks.
