Post-COVID and Progress after 2 months on the FID diet
Hi there,
I have almost recovered from COVID and have got a few questions regarding the FID diet going forward: During COVID, I had to stop the FID diet for one week as I needed someone else to cook for me (due to extreme fatigue). I have also had a few cheat days recently due to work functions that couldn't cater to the FID diet. I noticed my skin did flare up after some of these days, but sometimes my skin felt perfectly fine (e.g. when eating foods such as pulled bork burgers or bacon and eggs). While I have found that I am allergic to fermented foods during the FID testing stage, it does not seem I am allergic to salicylates or amines. Therefore, I wonder if it is worth continuing with the FID diet? It feels like I am removing foods I love unnecessarily at the moment. I have also lost a bit of motivation thinking that having those cheat days and a whole week off the FID diet has taken away all my progress - what are your thoughts on this? I also want to mention that my skin has never completely healed during the two months I have been on the FID diet. It is usually good for about three weeks, and then on the fourth week, I will often need to apply steroid creams (which also happened pre-FID). As per previous posts, I also know that stress (and potentially other environmental factors) can cause eczema flare ups - thus making me believe that eliminating certain foods cannot entirely heal my skin, as it seems my eczema is a result of many different factors.
Thanks so much in advance for your help xx

Hi Katie,
Me again! Just wanted to say thank you so much to you and Karen too for the podcast on COVID. I just realised it has been uploaded and the advice was really helpful xx
