Sunflower sprouts

Hi - I got sprouted sunflower as a replacement for my usual sprouted mung beans. It's the first time I've heard of them! Can I have them on FID elimination? I checked the food finder which said that sunflower oil and seeds are off limits as high in both As and Ss. Are these any different as they are sprouted? Any nutritional advice very welcome.

Hi Rowenna, good question. Sprouted sunflower seeds are not on the FID list as they are the same as sunflower seeds (high sal). Only sprouted mung beans and lentil sprouts are low sal and allowed on FID. Sprouted mung beans are super easy to grow using dried mung beans. Have you seen our recipe?

Alternatively, If you are ready to test high sal ingredients you could test sunflower sprouts and see how you respond.

You mentioned sunflower oil… this is low sal/amine so it is allowed on FID.
