FID Program & Shopping guide

Hi Karen/ Bonnie,

I have a question and just want check my understanding. I just read FID Program & Shopping guide pdf.

It says there....

Page 4. In the following Shopping guides (p. 5-7) Grains are highlighted in green. You can test. You can test grains from week 7, if further investigation is required. Eliminate grains from your diet for 1 week, then introduce one grain at a time.

Page 9. Other test options, if you still need answers: gluten, potato, rice, grains, and other potentially problematic foods until you find the cause/s of your inflammation. E.g. have a grain-free week.

Just want to check my understanding:

My understanding is we still can eat grains in the elimination stages (at least 2 weeks) as long as it's in p.5-7 list.

However if the skin is not clearing after we pass salicylates test, then we can follow other test procedures (grains free week).

Am I correct?

Should we do that other test e.g. grains at day 37? Or do we wait until week 7?

Best Regards,

Derly

Hi Derly,

Grains during elimination stages:

Yes, you are correct. During the elimination stage (at least 2 weeks), you can eat grains that are highlighted in green on pages 5-7 of the shopping guide.

Yes, that's correct. In addition to what you've mentioned, if you identify any specific food triggers that worsen your skin remove them from your diet as well. It would be best if you continued eating stage 1 FID until your skin is clear enough to reintroduce foods for testing purposes.

I hope this helps!

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
