Progress but lost a bit of discipline!

Hi all its been a while since I posted. I went on holiday to the US for 2 weeks having been on FID pretty strictly for 7 months. I found it was difficult to stick to FID whilst away so I found myself consuming foods such as potato fries and chicken nuggets (which contain gluten). To my great surprise I found I didnt react to either (I had previously reacted to potatos back in February). I am having to travel with work a lot more now which makes sticking to the diet harder. I have a really sweet tooth and did not have any chocolate for 8 months. Three weeks ago, when stuck in an airport for a 3 hour delay, I had a moment of madness and bought a load of milk chocolate which I wolfed down. I was expecting a reaction within 3 days but none came!! Again, very happy but clearly I need to ensure that I dont get ahead of myself. To be honest I think I have since lost my discipline with the diet as regular travelling is making it hard, I try and do what I can. I have found myself eating out and just trying to minimise consumption of foods that I think will most likely cause me issues such as tomatoes, rich sauces, soy sauce etc. After another business trip this week at which it was nigh on impossibe to stick to the diet I have found my skin flaring up but nothing like as bad as before.

In short its great that my skin doesnt seem to be reacting as much after 8 months of FID - any idea why this is the case?

I just need to get back to eating a more balanced, eczema-friendly diet!!

Feedback really appreciated!

I've been on a similar type of experience Mark, many months on fid, now on eczema detox but branching out into previously normal treat foods ie doughnuts, crumpets, cake, I feel that overall having been on fid for a long time gave, and is still giving, my body from the inside the chance to get on top of the inflammation, to calm down, to get stronger and so handle food it couldn't before - in small less frequent moderation - thats the key I think for me. I still use fid as a base, I can feel it's better for my body. Nb try this, I do a 24hr total detox once a week, I find it really recentres things and gives the body a break. Check healthy skin kitchen book about it. Really glad things improving for you too!
