Supplements on FID - immunity

Hi there,

A question about the programme supplements (AM/PM) you offer.

Could you clarify what you mean by "if you have cancer" then don't just take supplements, consult first with medic. etc. Do you mean currently with cancer?

I had cancer 10 years ago, I am cancer free, but I am still on hormone therapy medication. The nutritionist in the Cancer unit wasn't keen on supplements. I still have officially low immunity - i.e on the white blood cells marker, plus another couple of markers.

I am currently doing FID (in week 6) to try and stabilise my skin, which is slowly seeming to work, but it's stubborn.

I wondered if I could take either of the supplements with FID to give my low immunity a boost, and maybe help my skin to repair...

I do understand you can't give 'medical' advice, but any thinking, guidance nutritionally to orientate me, really appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Rowena, happy to help... That is a warning statement that should be on all supplements (but most brands don't do it), as nutrients such as calcium can interfere with the absorption of medications. Supplements can be taken more than 2 hours apart from medications... I can't give medical advice and your cancer unit nutritionist would know best regarding supplements you can take while on your medication. For immunity, relaxation techniques work well (roll and release, meditation), and get your doctor to check if you have any nutritional deficiencies as that would warrant using supplements. You might want to check with the nutritionist about using Skin Friend AM and PM, as you could possibly take the child dose?
