What is a 'cup'?

Could you give some sense in the equivalent of ounces or grams - what the measure of a 'cup' is?

I have lots of cups of different sizes.

What does it roughly equate to?

Or, how big a cup are you using?

I have looked under resources and in the two books but can't find a chart to convert. Please direct me to it's location if I have missed it somewhere.

Looking forward to the answer!

Hi Rowenna,

Certainly, I'd be happy to help you with that! A standard measuring cup typically holds about 8 fluid ounces (237 milliliters) when measuring liquids. When measuring dry ingredients like flour or sugar, 1 cup is roughly equivalent to about 4.25 to 4.5 ounces (120 to 128 grams).

Please let me know if you have any further questions 😊
