Heavy metal detox supplement
Hi again,
I'm wondering if taking this supplement would be helpful or unhelpful? I the past, I've eaten a lot of tuna and other fish, and would like to take the supplement to support elimination of heavy metals I might have ingested.
Thanks!

Hi Hayley, happy to help… fish oil supplements can be good to take (if you are not sensitive/allergic to fish and do test it first). EPO does not have a lot of scientific evidence to show it helps but you can always test these supplements to see if they help you. As with all foods and supplements… your body will tell you if they are right for you.
Re detox supplements with grasses and herbs… they can make eczema worse so be mindful if you want to test it maybe try it in small amounts as they are high in salicylates and glutamates. Also check who has designed these supplements as they may not be a qualified herbalist who understands herb safety. (There was a detox tea company who put a teen in hospital from poorly formulated products).
On another note, It’s most important to avoid stress. Gratitude and faith help to combat stress (check out our vagus nerve podcasts on the home page of our app, or on in the podcast tab on the website). We start to panic and endlessly search when we have eczema. This can flare it more. Trust your body can heal itself with good foods and a positive attitude. Take this time during the holidays to relax and take a break from searching. Listen to our podcasts for ideas. Tell yourself you have found the solution to healthy skin and the answers will appear. Focus on self love and trust you are on the right path. Happy holidays. Karen
