Sardines?

Hi Bonnie, I noticed your note on high calcium foods in another post, really useful, 😊

You list sardines.

I'm just checking, they're very high in amines, right?

I've been avoiding them in favour of mackerel, which I love, but given the calcium % they offer (I'm osteopenic) I may do sardines as my next test.

Do you have any sardine update, or does this seem an ok plan?

HI Rowenna,

I'm happy the list helped. 😊

Yes, that's right- Sardines are low in salicylates (IF not canned with flavoured oils), and lower in amines if fresh, and very high in amines if canned. If you are not overly sensitive to amines, you could try and test them in your next test as yes they are an excellent source of calcium!

Let me know how you go!

Bonnie
