Hi Edna, thanks for your great question. How exciting to be going on a holiday! As someone who loves to travel and has eczema, I love this topic.

It is absolutely possible to stick to the eczema diet while travelling. When I was travelling and still eating the diet the following tips helped me.

  • Prepping before you go- In the weeks leading up to your trip try to follow the eczema diet really well to ensure your health is in the best shape possible prior to your trip.

  • Take Skin Friend PM and AM with you if possible. This will ensure you're nourishing your skin daily while travelling. As long as you're not going somewhere really hot both should be fine stored in your bag. On my trip, I took my own reusable cup so I could always have my powder supplements no matter where I was staying.

  • If possible try and choose accommodation with a kitchen so you can cook your eczema friendly meals as much as possible.

  • Listen to our podcast episode Dating Series Part 1 and skip to 17:56 as here Karen discusses tips for when you're eating out at restaurants.

  • An obvious but important tip to pack right! Take your own sheets as I found many hotels and Airbnb provide polyester sheets which can be very irritating to eczema-prone skin. Ensure you pack essential creams. Although I avoid steroid creams as much as possible I do recommend taking a tube of mild hydrocortisone cream in case of an emergency, out of control flare.

  • In addition to creams, I also included my own natural soaps and shampoos as we all know that the majority of commercial shower products are filled with nasty chemicals known to trigger eczema.

I hope these tips have helped. Please let me know if you have any further questions. I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip!
