With all the latest testimonials with this latest mineral rich food, 92 minerals! What is one to do if they have eczema? Is it rich in sals and amines? Personally, I am using it for the past week, I do not have eczema but my son Joseph wanted to try it who has eczema and has been pretty fair lately. He's been sticking with the eczema diet and adding am,pm skin friend, with daily doses of flax seed oil and sunflower oil and don't forget the rescue balm, it's been a blessing using routine let me tell you! Now he's inquiring if he should try the Irish Sea Moss, what do you think skin friend team? Any info on this from the Australian amine and sal research?

Hi Jerry,

Yes, sea moss is certainly popular at the moment. There is not currently a great deal of research or study's on the benefits of sea moss specifically. There could also be some concerns of heavy metal toxicity so something to look out for or ensure it is sourced from good quality waters or has been tested for heavy metal toxicity.

In regards to salicylate and amine levels with Irish sea moss, this has not been tested yet to our knowledge, so we would not be certain about the levels. Irish sea moss is a type of seaweed however and seaweed is high on the list of salicylates and amines. As with any food you wish to try, we recommend ensuring the skin is calm and then testing to see how it responds. :)

Let us know how you go. Katie
