Non-dairy yoghurts

Hello :) I have a question about non-dairy yoghurts (primarily soy yoghurt, but as there exist a variety of others such as cashew yoghurt or rice or oat yoghurt (at least in my country), I'm including all in my question).

Are this okay during FID or the Eczema Detox?

Technically, they are fermented, but not as much as dairy yoghurt as far as I know, so I was hoping, they are maybe okay to incorporate (at least during the Eczema Detox program).

Hi Lara,

Thanks for reaching out,

Unfortunately, yogurt is still typically fermented or has added probiotics which are not recommended for the FID as amine tolerance first needs to be identified before including amines in the diet. If you are on the Eczema Detox and have determined that you can tolerate higher levels of amines then you could try yogurt made with ingredients that are allowed on the eczema detox such as oat milk, tapioca starch, probiotics, etc, but again this would just need to be trialed when the skin is calm to know how you respond. And yes of course this is for the eczema detox and not the FID. Let us know how you go. :)
