FID for 3 year old in daycare
Has anyone tried to do the FID while your child was in daycare 5 days a week?
I am not sure how to restrict my daughter's diet during daycare hours. I can control her breakfasts, afternoon tea and dinners but morning tea, lunches and snacks are all prepared by the daycare. I feel like they might struggle with how restrictive it is. I was hoping someone has done this and had any advice?

Hi Sue, yep my daughter did daycare on FID. She had eczema so they were very understanding at her daycare. I would suggest doing a “loose FID” at daycare. Ie., get their menu and see what works and also supply some of your own foods/meals. For example, see if they can supply plain rice cakes/crackers, pear, carrot and blueberries for snacks. And you supply a meal on the days where they offer high sal food like spaghetti bolognaise (or ask them to do a plain version with salted mince, carrot and plain pasta). It depends on the daycare. Don’t be too strict on those days… being 80% there is better than nothing. Then after daycare give your child some Skin Friend PM to counteract any slip ups.
