DIY: Oatmeal Bath Soak
Hey everyone!
I remember in the early days when our son Joseph was struggling really bad with eczema. We came across a suggestion from Karen to use Oatmeal in the bath, so we used some oatmeal and ground it up really fine in the blender and then measured 3/4 cup of the now finely blended oatmeal and poured into tepid water for a nice calming bath. Spritz a little lavender into your bathroom and turn the lights out with some soothing calm music and a candle. Believe me it's a nice way to relax, you will not want to get out of bed. Oh and the leftover grounded Oatmeal out into ziplock baggies and store them into an airtight container for future oatmeal baths. Doing it yourself is so much cheaper than buying the market oatmeal. I believe then it was $10-15 for a box of 8 packets.😳 You can see savings right away! We used organic Oatmeal, unflavored and not instant, just in case. We have heard that using instant works just as well, but I wasn't willing to try on our already struggling kid. Unflavored is a must you don't want to come out the bathtub smelling like a maple bar😆
