dried papaya

Is organic, dried papaya (without any additives such as sugar or sulfur) OK? I am at the tail end of FID. How much can I eat per day?

Hi Minh-Nhat,

Bananas and papaya contain amines, so the amine level will increase when dried. If you have found you tolerate high levels of amines, dried banana and papaya can be enjoyed in moderation.

If you are not so good with amines then opt for dried apple and pear in moderation. We say moderation as dried fruits are naturally high in sugars. Note we have not tested dried papaya (as it usually requires added sugar) in our recipe here however if you have found it with no additives then you could try and test it once the skin is clear.

Just test a small amount first and if there is no reaction after 3 days you can try again.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
