Testing small amounts
Karen/Bonnie
Many of the forum will know I've been having a challenging time testing. I just tested gluten yesterday morning for the first time in ages and seem to be having a reaction to that. I've been on FID now for 7 months but just can't seem to make progress with introducing new foods.
Karen you mentioned that you only ate a small portion of sweet potato/ carrot for 6 months before you were able to tolerate large amounts. This is where I want to get to but how should now proceed? If I eat a small portion of each every day, how do I then test other foods whilst doing this for 6 months? I assume that all other foods will need to be tested as well in small amounts but how should I proceed? It's clear to me now that I need to test in a different way and a far slower place and amounts than what is written in your books and also what appear on this website. If I can just successfully reintegrate one new food it will be such a morale boost! Thing is I have to travel with my work. I have managed to put off a lot of travel but I know from experience that traveling with work whilst on FID is a nightmare so I am doing all I can to limit my trips!
Really appreciate any help. I just need to sort out a way forward. Thank you for all you do
Mark

Wishing you the best! It is so hard and you’ll get thru this! You’ll find a method that works! Staying calm and positive is crucial…. Sometimes that’s the hardest part! When I was down to 2 foods and in the darkest days, I kept telling myself that this too shall pass, there is something out there I can eat and I will find it! I did tiny tests and if I could eat a tiny amount I celebrated! Then I’d eat that tiny amount a couple days per week. I’d increase days and amounts as it it felt right. You can do this!!
